In the past, a stag night was just that, a night. It was normally done in the persons home town or city and quite often the night before the wedding. Oh, how things have changed!
Nowadays, it seems far more popular for people to have stag weekends than just one night. In fact, whilst the bride is planning the wedding, the groom, more often than not, is putting more time into thinking about the stag weekend!
Most people now choose to travel to either a different part of the country, or abroad for the weekend. It is only when coming to organise the transportation of five or more people, with accommodation and activities, that people start to realise that it is not as easy as it seems!
If intending to fly to Dublin, for example, as part of a weekend, it is highly advisable to make bookings for flights well in advance. Although Dublin is well serviced by budget airlines, if flight reservations are left until the last minute, there is either a chance of seats not being available, or of them being very expensive.
The same can be said for any accommodation options as well. Book well in advance to ensure that rooms are reserved. Booking accommodation for large groups can be quite hard, as hotels do not want rowdy groups of guys running wild through the building! It may be advisable to either be honest up front and say that it is for a stag weekend, or to be a little more sneaky and book the rooms separately.
